Summary
Full-time, tenure-track faculty position, effective July 1, 2008, or at another date as negotiated.
Qualifications
• Earned doctorate • Record of scholarship in nursing education or research as evidenced by conference presentations and publications. • Meet RN licensure requirements for Missouri and Kansas. • Commitment to excellence in baccalaureate nursing. • Commitment to integration of nursing and liberal arts curriculum. • Experience with curriculum development and program accreditation. • Experience in developing nurse educators. • Professional networking abilities. • A willingness to contribute to the college mission (see below).
Responsibilities
• Oversee curriculum development, improvement, and assessment of student learning in a department enrolling 175 students (admitting approximately 65-70 new students each year and approximately 55-60 annually). • Help develop and mentor full-time faculty members in teaching and scholarship. • Manage recruitment, training and retention of adjunct clinical faculty at a variety of clinical sites in the Kansas City area. • Work with college administration and other departments for the betterment of the college as a whole. • Participate in departmental teaching requirements and/or the college’s core curriculum in critical thought and inquiry.
