WJC Men’s Soccer Lose in a Tight Match
William Jewell College men’s soccer team lost on the road to #9 nationally ranked Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri. Missouri Baptist took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. WJC Junior forward John Barber scored in the second half to cut the lead in half. WJC pushed for the tying goal but ran out of time. Final score: Missouri Baptist 2, WJC 1.
“We didn’t have a good performance tonight against a solid team,” said WJC Head Coach Chris Cissell. “We fought hard to get back in the game but it wasn’t our night.”
The Cardinals next game is at home on September 23rd versus NAIA #19 nationally ranked Columbia College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm at Greene Stadium on the campus of William Jewell College.
