William Jewell College men’s soccer team dominated Ottawa University on Tuesday night winning 9-0.

Jewell took a 3-0 lead into halftime after goals from junior defender Justin Park, junior defender Jacob Patton and senior midfielder Allan Nekuda. The Cardinals didn’t slow down in the second half as the team added six more goals, for a final score of 9-0. In addition to Park, sophomore midfielder Austin Williams, freshman forward Matt Happy, freshman midfielder Josh Ehrhard, junior midfielder Clint Wyllie and junior midfielder Garrett Jahn also scored.

“We played with some good energy tonight,” said William Jewell College head coach Chris Cissell. “A lot of players pitched in to keep the energy high while maintaining our skilled style of play.”

The Cards improved to 1-1 on the young season and will travel to Leavenworth, Kan., Thursday, September 7, to take on The University of St. Mary’s.
