Athletics: Men's Golf

Prospective Team Members:
I am very pleased you are considering playing for the William Jewell College Cardinal Varsity Golf Team! It is our desire to build and maintain a quality golf program that enables us to be competitive, not only in our conference but also at the NATIONAL LEVEL! I believe this can and will be accomplished.
As you know, team sports require several things to happen before winning can be a realistic goal. Golf at the college level is unique in the fact that each individual effort is important not only for the team, but also for the players themselves. As a team, we will only survive through the sacrifice and dedication from all players individually. The issue is commitment! Golf is hard work; don't let anyone tell you it isn't. I expect my players to work hard on their game! We are a varsity sport.
Many challenges await us in the future. But with hard work we can make sure we are a team that all others aspire to. Winning the HAAC Tournament in 1998 and attending the 1998 NAIA National Men's Golf Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma has given us the incentive and momentum to work hard through the many years to come. This realization has given us the confidence we need to be a force to deal with well into the future.
As the Men's Varsity Golf Coach, I will do everything in my power to help you enjoy your time at William Jewell College and at the same time improve your game to a level which you can be proud of.
Please feel free to call my office with any questions you may have and I will be glad to help you!
Sincerely,
Bill Skolaut,
