Minor in Chemistry

We offer a minor in chemistry for those students who are interested in building a foundation in chemistry but who are pursuing majors in other disciplines.

Students in any other major (with a few exceptions*) are welcome to undertake the minor. However, it ought to be particularly appealing to biology majors.

The minor in chemistry consists of the following courses:

CHE 122 (General Chemistry II) -- 4 hours
CHE 205 (Discoveries in Chemistry) -- 1 hour
CHE 301 (Organic Chemistry I) -- 4 hours
CHE 302 (Organic Chemistry II) -- 4 hours
CHE 206 (Analytical Chemistry) or
      CHE 450 (Biochemistry) -- 4 hours

*Students who major in chemistry or biochemistry or bioethics or Oxbridge molecular biology are not eligible to earn the minor in chemistry.
