Mission: The Office of Multicultural Student Development is committed to creating an inclusive, accepting, and embracing community for students, staff, and faculty who are from diverse populations (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian and Pacific Islanders, Native American, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender LGBT).

William Jewell College community standards: Diversity is al the ways in which we differ. Celebrating the fact that the human community is diverse WJC is committed to being an inclusive community that values the worth of each individual while respecting and accepting differences.

William Jewell College is committed to welcoming all expressions of diversity that are in keeping with our college mission of fostering an inclusive, compassionate, and respectful environment for our students, staff, faculty, and guests. The lists below are campus and student organizations aimed at bringing a greater awareness regarding Diversity on our campus.

Campus Diversity Committee: The mission of the Diversity Committee is to foster increased, enhanced, and sustained diversity at WJC; to address in four dimensions – climate and intergroup relations, access and success, education and scholarship, and institutional viability and vitality; and to facilitate a process of evaluation of diversity at WJC.

Black Student Association: BSA our mission is to establish an African American organization that first, continually acknowledges the strengths and celebrates the accomplishments of the African American culture, and second, raises awareness about current issues that affect the African American community to help aid in solutions to resolve the issues.

Cardinals Caring Across Cultures (CCAC): The CCAC mission is to empower underserved communities through health promotion and health education, in addition to collaborative efforts to increase access to healthcare resources.

Providing Everyone A Caring Environment Allies
(Faculty and Staff) : P.E.A.C.E. Allies The mission of a support network program is to show support for Students of Diverse Populations through education, support, and awareness among WJC faculty and staff.

Student P.E.A.C.E. Allies: The PEACE Allies program is an educational intervention program. The purpose of the program is to provide students a safe (non-threatening, non-judgmental) place to talk about themselves, their experiences, and their development. The primary goal of the program is to develop allies for students and to positively enhance the campus environment through individual interaction between faculty/administrators and students addressing such issues as hate speech/hate crime, racial/sexual identity issues, sexual violence/sexual harassment issues, and related topics.
