Applying to the Nursing Program
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Students may apply for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing as either a First-Year Direct-Entry student or as a Transfer student from another college or university.

First-Year Direct-Entry Application Criteria

Bachelor of Science in Nursing-Accelerated Track (BSN-AT) In addition to submitting the items listed below, candidates for the BSN-AT Program must schedule a formal meeting with the Nursing Department and must take the TEAS Reading Comprehension Test ($25) administered by the Nursing Department.

- Two Letters of Recommendation (academic or professional) that address the candidates character and ability to complete a twelve month, intensive course of study
- Personal Statement (See Nursing Supplement)
- $25 Application Fee (Waived for on-line applications)
- A written summary of any community, volunteer or health-related experience

Application Deadline: June 1 The Office of Admission must receive your completed (must include all checklist items) Application for Admission and Scholarship no later than June 1.
Minimum requirements for regular admission to the BSN program Note: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- Grade of “C” or better in all Nursing prerequisite and general education courses
- Must have completed 24 or more transferable credit hours from an accredited college or university
A personal interview may be required for some applicants and will be scheduled as necessary.
BSN-AT Requirements
Application Deadline: August 1 The office of Admission must receive your complete (must include all checklist items) Application for Admission and Scholarship no later than August 1.
Minimum requirements for admission to the BSN-AT program Note: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.
- Baccalaureate (BA or BS) or higher degree completed by December of the year prior to beginning the program. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- Grade of “C” or better in all Nursing prerequisite courses.
The following prerequisite courses must be completed prior to beginning the BSN-AT program:
- Introduction to Psychology
- Abnormal Psychology
- Nutrition
- Microbiology with a lab
- Chemistry with a lab
- Anatomy with a lab
- Physiology with a lab
A personal interview may be required for some applicants and will be scheduled as necessary.
