BSN - Accelerated Track

Students may enter the nursing program as a college graduate seeking to complete nursing requirements for the bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) in one academic year.

In response to the community and national needs, the William Jewell College department of nursing received approval by the Missouri State Board of Nursing on December 5, 2002 to begin an Accelerated Track (AT) program. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is projecting the need for a million new and replacement registered nurses by the year 2010. Colleges of nursing are finding that accelerated BSN degree programs to be a creative way to increase student capacity and reach out to new student populations, while maintaining integrity and quality of nursing education (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2002).
