Brown Hall
You might not be able to tell it now, but Brown Hall used to be the gymnasium for the William Jewell Cardinals. The Old Brown Gymnasium was the site for the first intercollegiate basketball game west of the Mississippi River (between KU and WJC).
You won’t hear the thud of basketballs anymore, but you can hear the verses of Hamlet being performed or the lyrics of modern rock coming through the walls of the bottom two floors.
If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, the top floors of Brown would be more suited to your tastes. The main floor of Brown is the Office of Admissions and the top floor is the Stocksdale Art Gallery.
Brown is home to the departments of Art and Communication and Theatre.
Brown is also home to the Office of Admission, Stocksdale Gallery of Art, Peters Theater and The Edge radio station.
