At Jewell the Quad is the hot spot.

What you’re likely to find here: Frisbees, guitars, picnics and people.

Not only is it the hub of campus life, it is the location for two of our favorite Jewell traditions:

Walk around the Quad: All in-coming students walk around the Quad their first day on campus. This ceremony is repeated at Commencement as graduating seniors. Oh, and there are bagpipers—that’s the best part.

Lighting of the Quad: Kind of like the Plaza Lights (30 minutes south of campus) but better. Candles, songs and fellowship.

The Quad is the central point of the campus.
