The American Humanics nonprofit leadership organization at William Jewell College is preparing 500 Easter baskets to benefit the children of the Midwest Foster Care Adoption Agency (MFCAA). The American Humanics students are asking for donations in creating these Easter baskets. Individuals and businesses are asked to donate Easter baskets as well as items that can go in the baskets. The baskets will include toys, books, games, candy, toothbrushes, comic books and gift certificates. Over 150 area businesses such as McDonald’s, Sheridan’s Frozen Custard, Clint’s Comic Books, KCB Bank of Liberty and Liberty State Tax have already donated items and services for these baskets.
“We want to help bring a smile to these children,” said Mindy Newell, a member of William Jewell’s American Humanics nonprofit leadership organization.
“The children get the necessities, but we wanted to help bring them some fun this Easter season,” added LaTosha Brown, another member of Jewell’s American Humanics organization.
To donate an Easter basket or items for the baskets, you can bring your items to the Pryor Center for Leadership Development on the William Jewell College campus by Tuesday, March 11. The Pryor Center is located at 17 S. Jewell Street, Liberty, MO 64068. You can also call 816-415-5052 to learn more about how you can help support this project. The American Humanics students will create each individual basket for the children and have them delivered to MFCAA on March 14.
