Training Approach
We use an experiential training model for all our services. What does that mean? First, it means that in order to gain a skill you must have an opportunity to use that skill. For example, in order to throw a ball, you must pick up a ball and throw it. You cannot just read a book about throwing or have someone explain how to throw. You must experience throwing. And, the more you throw, the better thrower you become. The same is true about developing skills to be an effective team member or leader. These skills must be practiced. We give participants a safe “lab” environment to identify the desired skills and practice those skills.
Second, using an experiential model means applying the learned skills back in the “real world.” We encourage participants to take the skills they have learned and practiced, and apply these skills back into their lives.
A Lab experience can take on many forms. It can be an outdoor challenge course adventure, an indoor challenge course option, or an InterActive Workshop.
To determine the best design for your group, think about the following questions:
1. What are your current needs? 2. How much time do you have to spend at the Lab? 3. What type of experience do you want? Do you want a near to the ground problem-solving adventure, a high climbing
challenge, a quite energizer, or and in-depth training sessions? 4. How many people will participate? 5. What do you want to get out of this experience? 6. Would you like to do this training at another location? 6. Do you have individuals with special needs? 7. Do you need a conference room?
