Two members of the William Jewell women’s basketball team were named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-Americans. Juniors Hillary Adams and Erica Ferguson were named to the All-American Honorable Mention squad.
Adams finished the regular season leading the Cardinals in scoring with 546 points good for 16.5 per game. She also finished second on the team in assists with 62 and third on the team in steals with 45.
Ferguson finished second on the team in points with 403 good for an average of 12.2 per game. She led the Cardinals in rebounds and assists with 174 and 71 respectively.
“This is a great honor for Hillary, Erica and our whole team,” said head coach Jill Cress. “I am proud of our team and certainly proud of Hillary and Erica and we are looking forward to having them back next year to lead our team.”
The Cardinals finished their season 24-10 with a third-place finish in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. They qualified for the NAIA Division I National Tournament by winning the HAAC Postseason Tournament.
