WILLIAM JEWELL WOMEN BEAT BAKER
The William Jewell College women's soccer team defeated Baker on Wednesday night 1-0. Sophomore defender Kathleen Hatfield scored on a free-kick from 25 yards early in the second half to give the Cardinals a lead they would never surrender. The Cardinals dominated play for the rest of the game but were unable to extend their lead.
"We controlled the game, said WJC Head Coach Chris Cissell."Although we would have liked to score more, our possession and defense kept everything in check."
The WJC women (7-1-1, 2-0-1) will play another conference home game on October 7th versus MidAmerica Nazarene. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30pm.
