Guiding the William Jewell College women’s program since 1999 and the men’s program since 2002, Head Coach Chris Cissell has established himself as one of the most versatile and decorated coaches in the nation. In a short amount of time he has led the women’s program to four women’s NAIA National Tournament appearances (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007) and two men’s NAIA National Tournament appearance (2004 & 2006). In addition, Coach Cissell is the only coach in NAIA history to lead both a women’s team (2003) and men’s team (2006) to a NAIA National Tournament Final Four appearance. Since Coach Cissell’s arrival William Jewell College soccer programs have become staples in the NSCAA National Rankings and regularly produce All Americans and nationally recognized scholar athletes.
A standout player at William Jewell College (1990-94), Cissell has also become a well recognized coach earning the Heart of America Conference Women’s Coach of the Year honor four times (2000, 2001, 2003, 2005) as well as NAIA Region V Women’s Coach of the Year award in 2003 as well as NSCAA/adidas Midwest Coach of the Year in 2003. In addition, Coach Cissell earned the Heart of America Conference Men’s Coach of the Year honor in 2003 & 2006 and was the recipient of the NAIA Region V Men’s Coach of the Year honor in 2006 and the NSCAA/adidas Central Region Coach of the Year in 2006. At the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention in Indianapolis, Indiana; Coach Cissell was honored as the 2006 NSCAA/adidas NAIA Men’s National Coach of the Year.
Coach Cissell is also the Director of the William Jewell College All Star Soccer Camps. The All Star Soccer Camps have grown to be one of one of the largest day, evening and residential soccer camps in the Midwest. Every summer hundreds of youth players participate in the All Star Soccer Camps for a positive soccer learning experience. Many of the current WJC soccer players attended the All Star Soccer Camps as a youth and were sometimes recruited based off of their camp performance.
A graduate of William Jewell College in 1994, Cissell also has a USSF National Coaching License and is a member of various coaching associations including the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), United States Soccer Coaches Organization and the United States Youth Soccer Coaches Connection. He has also served as the chairman of the NAIA Region V Men’s Soccer Committee and is currently the chairman of the NAIA Region V Women’s Soccer Committee.
Coach Cissell’s wife, Heather, also graduated from William Jewell College (‘97). They have four children: Mitchell, Trevor, Zachary and Sophia.
Jefferson Roblee

Jefferson Roblee is in his fourth year as the men’s and women’s Associate Head Coach at William Jewell College. In his three years previous the programs have gone 73-30-9. Roblee is very active in the soccer community and has a history of developing elite players and elite teams. In 2005 his 87/88 KC Pace youth soccer team became the first non St. Louis club team to win a Missouri State Cup championship in a high school age group. In 2006, his KC Pace team repeated as Missouri State Cup champions. Besides coaching the KC Pace to Missouri State Cup championships in 2005 & 2006, Roblee also coached 80/81 KC United team to U19 and U20 Kansas State Cup championships in 2000 and 2001. In addition, Roblee has been the Head Coach of the Kansas City Brass of the Premier Development League since 2002. In that time, 18 KC Brass players have been drafted or signed professionally by clubs in Europe, Major League Soccer, USL-1, or in the Major Indoor Soccer League. In 2003 Roblee coached the Kansas high school senior boys in the Kansas vs Missouri Senior All Star Game at Arrowhead Stadium. Roblee also was the coach of the Missouri 87 ODP (Olympic Development Program) boys team from 2001-2004 and directed the Wizards Youth Training Program from 2001-2005. Roblee is very active in all William Jewell College All Star Soccer Camps as well as the MYSA ODP Academy at William Jewell College and the KC Pace FastForward Program.
Roblee played college soccer at The University of Tulsa for coach Randy Waldrum before finishing his communications degree at Park University. He played his high school soccer at nearby Winnetonka for coaches Don Gianola and Glenn Rosario and played club soccer for George Derra’s UHS Apollos. In addition he played three years in Missouri’s ODP program.
Roblee has a USSF National coaching license and a NSCAA National Youth Coaching Diploma. He is also a member of the U.S. Soccer Coaches Association and a member of the United States Youth Soccer Coaches Connection. Roblee is also a certified Double-Goal Coach in the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Jefferson Roblee’s twin brother, Lincoln Roblee, is the Head Coach of the women’s soccer team at Benedictine College.
