The William Jewell College women's soccer team scored early in the second half to win 2-1 on the road at Culver Stockton College on Saturday, October 14.

Fifteen minutes into the match, Culver Stockton, against the run of play, made the most of their first opportunity of the game and scored to take an early lead. Jewell responded quickly when senior forward Abby Mott passed to junior forward Rachel Obert, who scored from close range. The score remained 1-1 at the half.

Seven minutes into the second half, Cardinal junior defender Erica Greco made a run from left back before she found teammate Rachel Obert. Obert then flicked a pass to fellow forward, sophomore Nicole Revenaugh, who rounded the goalkeeper before scoring into an empty net.

The Cardinals continued to control the rest of the match as the score remained the same.
"We rebounded well after giving up an early goal," said WJC head coach Chris Cissell. "The team showed good composure, winning with good soccer."

WJC improved their record to 10-2-1 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play. The Cardinals’ next game is at home on Tuesday, October 17 against Benedictine College. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
