During ninety minutes of regulation and twenty minutes of overtime, the William Jewell women’s soccer team created numerous chances but couldn’t find the back of the net as the women’s team tied 0-0 at conference rival Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo.
In overtime the Lindenwood goalkeeper made two consecutive saves from close range within 3 seconds of each other, denying Cardinal sophomore forward Nicole Revenaugh’s initial shot and junior midfielder Megan Gray’s rebound shot. Jewell also hit the crossbar in overtime.
“We played well enough to win tonight; however, the goals were eluding us,” said WJC head coach Chris Cissell. “Our defense put in another very solid performance.”
The William Jewell women’s soccer team stands at 6-1-1 on the season and will host Baker University on Wednesday, October 4 at 5:30 p.m.
