The William Jewell College women’s soccer team won 5-0 at Ottawa on Tuesday night, September 5. The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead into halftime with goals from sophomore forward Nicole Revenaugh and senior midfielder Ashley Tanner. The team increased its lead in the second half as Jewell added three more goals.
Senior forward Abby Mott scored twice and sophomore midfielder Katie Brooks also scored in a game that Jewell dominated from the start.
“We improved our play in the second half when there was opportunity to abandon our style,” said William Jewell Head Coach Chris Cissell. “We’ll need that focus later in the season.”
The Cards improved to 1-1 on the young season and will travel to Leavenworth, Kan., Thursday, September 7, to take on The University of St. Mary’s.
