In teaching the Spanish language and Hispanic literary and cultural studies, Dr. Lisenby challenges students to engage our world’s socio-cultural complexities. Through the Honors Institute, Dr. Lisenby guides students to self-consciously examine their cognitive processes and then to find ways to make a difference in the world by using critical thinking in practical ways.

Dr. Lisenby was awarded a 2021 Literature Translation Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
