Yuriy Bots, Ph.D.


John W. Boatwright Professor of Economics; Associate Professor Business Administration, Economics

Prior to joining William Jewell College, Dr. Bots received his B.A. and M.S. degrees in economics in Ukraine, where he also worked for two years as an economist. Later he continued his education at Purdue University where he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics with a concentration in international trade. During his years at Purdue he served as a Purdue Graduate Student Government senator from the economics department and chaired the career fair committee. He was recognized by the student government for sustained efforts and sincere dedication toward graduate student welfare at Purdue University. His current research is focused on the importance of service firms in international trade and differential stock market reaction to various types of mergers. Dr. Bots currently teaches macroeconomics, managerial economics, economic development and international economics. Previously he taught courses at the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University and was recognized for outstanding contributions to teaching and learning.
