Employees who receive notification from the state or federal courts of an obligation to serve on a jury or other required legal obligation will receive paid time off for the time spent serving this obligation. Immediately upon receiving the court notification, the employee should notify his or her supervisor as well as the Office of Human Resources. The employee is required to provide copies of the subpoena or jury summons to the Office of Human Resources. Time used for jury duty should be submitted through Paycor.

Employees appearing in their own case as a plaintiff or defendant or for a nonsubpoenaed court appearance will not receive paid time off. Vacation or unpaid time should be used.
