Pre-Law

As a pre-professional program, this approach to law enables you to pursue any major while working with a pre-law advisory committee. Courses in biology, debate, economics, accounting, English, history, philosophy, political science and speech are recommended.

Prepare for Your Future in Law

Students interested in the law profession must obtain admission to law schools after taking the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). Most law schools strongly recommend a rigorous undergraduate program that builds skills in reading complex material and high quality writing. Jewell's pre-law program:

  • hosts practice sessions for the LSAT
  • moderates discussions with Jewell legal alumni and others on preparing your application, choosing the right fit, and succeeding in law school
  • provides advice and counsel about your law school applications
  • advises your Jewell course load, ensuring you will be prepared for law school
