Dr. Patrick Bunton, professor of physics, will deliver the Carl F. Willard Distinguished Teacher Lecture at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 at William Jewell College’s Yates-Gill College Union room 221. A reception will follow the lecture.
Bunton’s lecture is titled “Pursuing Meaningful Lives in a Liberal Arts College” and focuses on his own discovery of finding meaning and societal usefulness as a physicist. He will also discuss the benefits of exposure to and awareness of world cultures provided by the liberal arts setting.
The Willard Lecture is named for the late Carl Willard, a trustee from 1967-1991. The Faculty Development Committee recommends honorees to the provost and president, who make the final selection for the annual award.
