Joseph Shih, Ph.D.


Assistant Professor of Biology Biology

Dr. Shih has had a wide range of experience in biology higher education. While he currently teaches anatomy and physiology in the biomedical cciences at William Jewell College, prior to his current position he was an assistant professor of biology at the University of Saint Mary, where he taught courses ranging from genetics to microbiology to nutrition and was a lecturer in bioengineering at Stanford University, where he taught courses such as Introduction to bioengineering and senior biodesign. His academic interests are as varied as his teaching experiences: genetic engineering, biomedical design, synthetic biology and science education and outreach. He is interested in conducting and teaching students good science of all types.
